Day 14

Original

dont know what I did, but It worked, on the 1 eye!
Hue saturation on both, but her face is still a little blown..

I am so determined to accomplish this, that I am posting my re-vamped pics from yesterday taking into consideration your awesome comments. I agree with you in that I want to keep more detail in her face while making her eyes pop. As you can see in these, by total accident (shot 2) I accomplished my goal on the one eye, but couldnt remember what I did to match the other eye...arg! and in the 3rd one, I somehow managed to adjust the color by the hue saturation on a layer and then flattening my image..this is garble speak, I dont know what the crap I am talking about (lol) If anyone can explain to me how to do layer masks, I swear, I would pay you a million dollars...so to speak :) Keep in mind, I have pse4.

I'm not sure if what I do in CS2 will work is PSE4. To do eye pop, I duplicate the background layer, then do a layer mask and choose color dodge. Then I use the brush to add pop to the eyes, the lower the opacity so it doesn't look overdone.

I love the eye pop you have on the one eye! Hopefully you can remember how you did it!

I really love the second one. She has such amazing eyes. I am not sure if masking is the same in PSE as it is in photoshop, but Margaret looks like she has some good advice to try. Keep on practicing...these are SUPER.

What a pretty girl! Great eye contact. Do you have Scott Kelby's books? I used to have PSE4 and his 2 books, "Photoshop Elements 4 for Digital Photographers" and "Photoshop Elements Down & Dirty Tricks" where a HUGE help for me.

Oh, also - the Orton technique is brightening up the image, adding a gaussian blur, intensifying the image and then lowering the opacity of some of the layers. Do a search on the 2P's photography board as I think there are some great threads that and some that explain how to do it with PSE.

I really like the second one... especially that one eye! :) I have no clue how to tell you to do layer masks in PSE... wish I could help with that!

While I'd love to have a million dollars, I can't help you. I'm learning along with you.

I can't help either, but the pop is great on that one eye. And if I had to chose between photo 3 and yesterday's conversions, I'd go for yesterday, but I tend to like the overprocessed look myself.
